A thousand years ago, a wish was granted, and with it a sword of wrath and lightning was forged: Kamigoroshi, the Godslayer. A weapon powerful enough to eternally confine the fearsome ogre Hakaimono. But now the demon has broken free. Yumeko, a half-kitsune girl capable of weaving illusions, has a mission to fulfill: to bring her fragment of the ancient and powerful Scroll of a Thousand Prayers to the Steel Feather Temple, and thus prevent the coming of the Herald of Change, the Great Dragon, who will grant a wish to the scroll bearer. But now she has a new enemy, more dangerous than any she has ever faced. The demon Hakaimono is finally free, and he has possessed the person Yumeko trusted for her protection, Kage Tatsumi, the valiant warrior of the Shadow Clan. Hakaimono has only one goal: to break the sword's curse, free himself, and plunge the world into chaos and destruction. But to do so, he will need the scroll, and Yumeko is the only one standing in his way.
