Knox is a barber who likes to live his life the same way he drinks his coffee: alone. He's a man who can't stand drama and wants no complications with women. Naomi, on the other hand, has just run away from her wedding and is heading to a small town in Virginia in search of her sister, a town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned way: with punches and beer, in that order. It's a shame Naomi's sister ditches her, leaving her in charge of her eleven-year-old daughter, a niece whose existence Naomi was unaware of. Trapped in this town with no car, no job, and no home, Naomi asks Knox for help, and he offers her a plan to get her life back on track. That way, Knox thinks, Naomi will leave him alone. That was the plan, until problems turn into real danger.
